Hey I am using ubuntu 10.10 followed the setup instructions for Vidalia off the website and all is goo minus one major set back, it is using an exit node in Germany giving me German versions of everything. I would like idiot proof step by step directions to set it up to use ones her in the US! Thank you in advanced.

Are you talking about tor and vidalia. Two things. This guide shows you how to do what you want (http://www.how-to-hide-ip.info/2009/08/08/how-to-use-an-ip-from-a-specific-country-while-running-tor/). However, doing so decreases the anonymity you get by using the tor network.

You could also specify that you want to use the english versions of certain websites. So you could visit (http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en) to specify the english version instead of just google.com which auto detects your location.
