Hi i'm brand new to linux so please bear with me.

I have installed mythbuntu, but to get the actual TV channels working I need to install the drivers for it.

This USB tv tuner I have has full linux support, but the drivers are on a cd in a g-zipped tar.gz file. When I double click on the file it asks me what program I open up the file with but there are none that apply.

I'm running version 10.10 (i think) and here are my htpc specs below

Processor: AMD ATHLON X2 5600+
RAM: 2GB DDR2 800
GPU: INTEGRATED NVIDIA 6150

The USB thing i'm trying to install is a ClimaxDigital DTV200 DVB-T USB and the file name on the disc if needed is:

IT9135_SRC.tar.gz

thanks

The driver on the disk you have is apparently not the one you want. I did some research on your behalf. Read this thread, and the links given therein (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1532934).
