please explain: difference between launchpad.net and sourceforge.net

just stumbled about the launchpad.net site and try to figure out:
what is the difference between launchpad.net and sourceforge.net :confused:
Is launchpad here just to develop parts of the ubuntu-code or can i start a little pygame-project in launchpad just like in sourceforge.net ?

Launchpad is a gigantic project page for Ubuntu. You can't change the code unless you're a developer, but you can translate the packages and add bug reports so the devs can fix it.

Source Forge is for individual free software projects.
