Hi,

I have an unreliable and dirt slow dialup internet connection, as do thousands of other Ubuntu users. I was wondering if there's any interest in creating a CD version of EasyUbuntu. I finally ran across a good clean solution that would allow for the creation of an EasyUbuntu Add-on CD, which could be added as an apt respository.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AptMoveHowto Looks like the solution.

I, for one, would happily pay for shipping, media, and time costs in order to obtain an EasyUbuntu CD. I think I'm not the only one. :D Any comments? Thanks!

This has come up in the past, and here is the spec:

Hi mate.
There are several ways to make a local repository - apt-move is a pretty full on but effective one.
I'm looking into this spec when i can because i think i would have a quite a number of uses for it here. (giving someone an ubuntu cd+EU cd would rock).
I'll try and put some real work into the spec soon.

Is there any way of downloading easyubuntu on a windows machine and burn an cd from there? Or could someone share the iso with bittorent or a direct download link? That would be of great help...

I made a CD version of Easy Ubuntu just in time for the SFD 2006. Here is the how to. I will post a shell script to automate the steps soon.
