Hi all,

There is a very strange thing about brightness-control on my vaio E, it does not work. What so strange is that in a 32-bit version of 10.10 I can reduce/adjust brightness through fn-key+F5/F6, but on a 64-bit version I can't. While fn-key+F3/F4 (volume control) works on both. I did a fresh installation.

Is there a way to add something to configs (like with touchpad-problem - i8042.nopnp to default/grub) so that it will work?

Hi,
There is one more way, Go to System->Preferences->Power Options. Then just adjust the brightness. Hope this helps.

That does not work when on battery.
