I am working in Lucid Lynx. My battery status does not work. I now only see the icon which explains that my Mac is connected to an adapter. I am running on battery only at the moment, Furthermore, it never gives the correct battery charge level. Does anyone here know what's going on ?

found the bug report:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/upower/+bug/531190

and added my name there too. This is a very annoying bug to me.

I tried backporting upower-0.9.7 into Lucid Lynx to no avail...I am back to the stock upower. If anyone has a solution, please tell me. I hate this.

It is possible that you have a hardware issue in your MacBook. (http://www.browse-tools.com/apple-macbook-air-models/) You can try cleaning the contacts on the battery and inside with a little bit of rubbing alcohol. But you will likely need to have it serviced by Apple or an authorized service provider its a better choice.

For the moment the battery status is working for me. I had to reset the SMC only twice since I started this thread.
