Sorry if this post is in the wrong category.

I have a Blue Yeti microphone and I would like to use it with Ubuntu to do overdubbed vocals on a multi track recording using something like Ardour, or perhaps Reaper under Wine. Only problem is, the direct monitoring doesn't work with Ubuntu. I can hear audio through headphone jack on the mic, meaning that I can hear whatever audio is playing, but I cannot hear the vocals as they being sang into the mic.

Has anyone been able to get this feature of the Yeti working on ubuntu? I would really like to check out the Linux recording environment, but not being able to use my mic is sort of a deal breaker for me.

Thanks in advance!

I figured it out on my own, but for anyone else who might run into this problem in the future, here's what I did.

Installed gnome Alsa mixer using synaptic. Opened gnome alsa mixer, there was a tab there for the mic! Turns out it was muted by default.

I'm considering getting this mic, so I'm just wondering if you're happy with it so far?

Have you tried using it with JACK?
