You need a torrent client

Transmission is the default torrent client in ubuntu
(should already be installed)
but it's a bit limited in it's feature-set

However, there's a few other torrent clients available
I personally like deluge, but also have a look at ktorrent and qBittorrent

Use the Transmission BitTorrent Client. In case you uninstalled it, you can reinstall it with Synaptic

transmission it's great in it's simplicity but if you want torrent clients that you also might have found under Windows than azureus, bittorrent are the ones for you

U might also like to try deluge. I thinks it's much better than transmission/vuze.

I think transmission is better than deluge, in deluge the download speed is always going up and down all the time while transmission maintains top speed independent how many peers there are, at least this is my experience with both bittorrent clients.

to be sincere azureus or vuze how you wanna call it has one of the most aggressive download rates I have ever seen. Plus, it has some interesting plugins and charts that you might find really handy, but I have to say I've didn't tried deluge yet.
