View Full Version : [ubuntu] Boot problem after avi conversion.
November 30th, 2010, 03:44 AM
I was converting an avi to iso for a DVD. After some time all text on the screen turned into multicolored squares and then locked up. Now when I try to boot I get weird lines on my screen at boot, into Ubuntu 10.10 or into Win7 the boot just stops and I get a black screen. If I hit the function F2 combo I do get a blinking cursor when booting into Ubuntu. Also I can boot into recovery mode in Ubuntu.

As of this morning I was able to boot into low graphics mode. I reinstalled my Nvidia drivers and it still will only boot into low gfx mode. I also tried to boot into a live cd with the same black screen problem.
