I realise this isen't really an ubuntu question, but i've had lots of help here in the past so I will ask here.

Right now i use an internet cafe alot, I use firefox for my web browser and thunderbird as my email client. I've installed both of them to the my usb drive, and created profiles using the profile manager, but whenever I try and start my profile the next day it never works, I always have to add everything all over again. Any suggestions?

Do you have a full OS or just those programs.

I just have those problems, ideally i would like to run ubuntu off of a usb, but i doubt the internet cafe staff would like me doing that as it would mean that their software that counts how long i've been on wouldn't work.

FF has a portable version I would assume it saves.

Tbird

This might be what you already have but this is as far as I know I haven't had a need for portable apps.

Opera can be portable with tor I would be more inclined to have that on the thumb as well.
