I am new to Linux and am trying to make a Mythbox with my Ubuntu 10.10 install. I can dual boot to windows xp as well as Ubuntu. When I rely on my on-board video everything works fine with both windows and Ubuntu. It is when I install my ATI Radeon x1550 pci-express and start my computer that windows works fine, but if I choose to boot into Ubuntu I see a cursor at the top of the screen and then the screen goes black and nothing happens. Even if I plug my monitor into the on-board video I still don't get any video. It is not until I remove the ATI card that I can boot into Ubuntu. If anyone has any ideas on my problem I would appreciate the help. Thanks.
