View Full Version : [ubuntu] USB Write/Deletion Speed plummets once the "file operations" window appears.

This is a problem which has only appeared today (I haven't edited anything to the best of my knowledge) and only affects USB operations. It isn't just affecting one USB port or USB drive either. Files I copy/move to a USB drive, or delete from one move at a normal speed (which is around 20 mb/s), but once the file operations window appears, they slow to a crawl, around 500 kb/s. I'm not experiencing the same problem within the system itself. I can't figure out what is causing this. I'm using 10.04 LTS.

I have the same issue the only way around it is to dual boot windows.

Copying anything to my USB is a waste of time i get 11mbps..... But in windows i get 50mbps.
