View Full Version : [ubuntu] Wireless to Wired Internet Connection Sharing

November 28th, 2010, 03:44 PM
I have got a netbook running Ubuntu 10.04. It has a RaLink RT3090 Wireless PCI card and connects fine through wifi. I want to bridge/share this connection to my Xbox 360 through ethernet. I've used network manager to set this up as such:
- auto wlan is set to automatic
- auto eth is set to share to other computers under "method"

So everything is set up fine. However, when I plug the ethernet cable in, it gives me a notification saying "Connection Established" but instantly then gives me another saying "Disconnected. As long as I leave the cable in, it just continues to alternate between these two notifications about every 2 seconds.

I would appreciate any help please :)

I think you need a cross over cable between the PC and Xbox. Check out this page (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Internet/ConnectionSharing) for more information.
