New AA Clan Anyone ?

Anyone want to start/join a new Americas Army clan? Well Im willing to help start one if anyone would like to join and participate.

I know that AA is a quality game, and it is free, but think about what it is all about...

When you see the other team, they look like terrorists. But, when they look at you, you look like terrorists. It is as if they are trying to say:
"One man's terrorist is another man's soldier (or freedom fighter)."

While almost nobody would support the attacks of Sept. 11th, most of the world's terrorists are not crossing oceans to attack people -- they are just "crossing the tracks". Sept. 11th was weird, as they attackers were well funded by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, usually terrorists have almost no money.

From Iraq to Israel to N. Ireland to the Philippines one thing unites all the terrorists; they are poor people. The poor of the world are the terrorists -- the rich can buy bombers or hire a "military contractor" (AKA mercenary).

I know that peace games would be supper boring -- and AA is free (PAID FOR BY TAX MONEY) -- so, but you should be aware that your are consuming propaganda. Before the most recent Administration, propaganda in the US borders was strictly illegal; now we have had the government using tax money to pay off reporters.

Anyway -- that said -- I'll be in the clan, but I travel for work and will have to miss some games as I'll be away from my desktop machine (i855 graphics don't cut it). We should make sure that we have 1.5x to 2x the players we need to field for game days.

Don't worry I was planning on not having too much of the serious match playing with other clans. It takes too much time and planning and then when you play it gets all messed up.

Im game as long as its not gonna be one of those uptight kinda things. That and if people relize its JUST A GAME. I was in the 9th infantry for a while but they were out of control. Id even be willing to run a ts server for when we play/or have matches.

Ok great, as far as the teamspeak server goes that would be nice. I have a problem with my firewall that I cant run one so I am not available for running one. However, I can join one. It would be nice if you could start one up and we could make a time to get together and make a name and that stuff.

Not to upset you to tell you that I will not join your clan, but I will be online to play. I have been playing the game since it started in JULY 4, 2002 : AMERICA'S ARMY: RECON (v1.0.0)
Username for the game is how you see it now and my so called "honor" is 48.
I do not believe you can have a thing called "honor" in a game.
I am currently in the military and against the term even being used as a status for the game. I prefer to see players stats of how many hours played and what maps do they play.
A person who has five hundred plus hours on one map and less than five minutes on the rest does not constitute him/her as a good player. Having a somewhat equal amount of hours on the maps would be a better player in my opinion. Yes there is going to be more hours on some maps than others, and that would be because of the persons favorites. but overall somewhat equal is what people should strive for. Also, if a person does not kill a enemy but completes the mission, the person does not receive this thing they call "fragrate" but does receive leader points and goal points. The points or stats that you judge how well somebody plays is up to you. I play for fun, and the stats are just something that people can fill their ego's up with.
I have seen some with a "honor" of over 90, and it does not impress me at all. I have told those with the high honors that I have something better than a maximum 100 honor in the game.
I have a ingame icon of a star representing the Active Duty status that I have in the military. To me, that is better than the highest status that anybody can have. You want stats? Some are out there getting stats by hacking and exploiting the game, which is giving them unhonorable stats, but stats nonetheless.

Well that's a complimenting post ^^ But, I don't see why your posting in here. However, I understand your viewpoint and agree with you most of the time. My friends all only play urban assault and I just tell them thats pathetic, because I try to play as many maps as possible (2.5 doesn't have many cuz limited servers). Thanks for your comments though

Where I disagree is the stance that you need to have equal(ish) experience on many maps. Reason being: it's a game. I really like the MOUT map. I've played others and do reasonably well. However, I've logged many more hours in MOUT than any other map. Does this make me a worse AA player? I don't think so. MOUT requires a significant amount of strategy and out-thinking your opponent. Many maps simply require accuracy because of the long distance combat involved. I'll be honest, my long range accuracy is pretty bad. But as with the real army, there are snipers and/or marksmen for a reason. Would you say an American soldier is not a good soldier because he isn't a sniper? I guess that's just opinion. You're welcome to yours and I'll agree to some extent. I would be a more well rounded AA player if I spent more times on other maps. But I'd still say I'm a good player.

Just an update for everyone, we now have 4 COMPLETELY REGISTERED users. We are soon going to be merging with another clan that is on 2.6. So we will have players on both AA's

It says in your AAOtracker profile that your honor is 33 and your fragrate is .43 something wrong? Anyway I'll be sending you an email shortly. Also, it is particially my fault that we don't have a positve fragrate but i have been tracked since I was a noob and first started the game. I had a fragrate of .16 then. I expect by the end of the summer that it will be positve

A dumb question but having never been part of a clan before....how do I know which server to join and how do I find it? I've just run AA on my Ubuntu system for the first time and run the filters to show servers, and only about 9 came up (presumebly because we have to run 2.5 and most people are on 2.6 now). How will I find us?

First of all when apart of a clan, u need to have our tag in front of your name, please add the tag -=USF=- b4 GIZMO_THE_GREAT2. When you mean find us I assume u mean find us in servers. To do that just click on the server and see at the bottom right hand corner what usernames are in it and see if u see people with the tag -=USF=- before them
