Hey Anyone..

I have been using ubuntu for some time now. In my college they have a wireless network through which the Internet is provided to us. Consequently there is a LAN network within the hostel. Most everyone here uses Windows. File sharing, I was warned, would be a problem hence. However, Samba works awesome!

However, where LAN messengers are concerned, I cannot get my g2ipmsg nor pidgin messenger (bonjour) to detect, connect or even converse with any other ip messaging client on windows. Or with other ubuntu systems aswell.

Help? I'm sure its simple enough..?

Sorry man. I was having the same problem with Google Talk. Changed my settings to what was written here (http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Talk/thread?tid=5af91d70198c1bf6&hl=en) and that solved it for me. Don't know if it will be any help for you but it's the best I can do!
