I haven't played Splinter Cell, but I played the first MGS and I'm playing MGS: Snake Eater now. It's a thinking man's action game. :)

believe it or not, I've never played Metal Gear Solid.
I didn't own a playstation at the time, so dug my roots into splinter cell. I loved downloading the new levels MS made available after MANY MANY months of waiting. Very slow development..
Splinter Cell 2 was terrible.
MGS looked good, but seemed sort of arcade-esk or something. I still haven't picked it up for a real test run yet.
