won't install required updates and other downloaded programs

I can't install updates or anything downloaded (skype, other programs) from the terminal... Also, I tried downloading and installing from Update Manager and this error comes up.

I'm new to Ubuntu. What do I need to do to install new programs and updates? Someone please help me.
