I want to write a screensaver for Ubuntu.

I can get the screensaver to show up in both gnome-screensaver and xscreensaver-demo (screensaver configuration GUIs). I can also have it execute the binary when the screensaver daemon calls it.

What I can't figure out is how to make it draw over the blank black screen when the screensaver turns on. It just runs my program in the background. And kills it on mouse-movement.

Does anyone know how to write an Ubuntu screensaver?

Thanks.

Anyone know?

I have not found anymore useful info yet.

There's plenty of example code out there. See the gnome screensavers and xscreensaver source code.

If you post your code here, then we can help debug it, and all get educated in the process.

Ok, thanks. I got [REALLY] boggled down by school this fall semester, so I didn't do enough to show. When I do, I will let you know.
