This is on all Linux distros (including OpenSolaris live CD) and it happened randomly upon login one day. About 4 months back when I was on Sabayon wireless didn't work upon login. The problem persists on every distro I use.
My issue is that when I log in, wireless does not work. In the GNOME panel, I right-click on the network manager and "Enable Wireless" is greyed out. The wireless light on my laptop is red (meaning disabled). If I flick the switch off and back on, it turns blue and wireless instantly works.
It's a minor annoyance but it's a nuisance all the same. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
