Hi everybody! Since I've upgraded to dapper I've this annoying problem: computer freezes. And that's all. I can't either move the mouse around, the only solution is to power off and restart from the power button. It's not a matter of what program I'm running. I think it could be ndiswrapper but I don't know even where to find information about what happens. If you tell me what to send I'll be glad in providing more information. Thanks for all your work!!

Hi mirons--I had the same problem recently after running Breezy for a few months, but I thought it was a hardware problem--perhaps some bad memory in my five-year-old computer. I have not encountered this freeze-up since I installed Breezy in a new desktop from the same install CD.

There is some known bugs in Dapper with ndiswrapper, I suggest that you do a search in the forum or in the bug database to check if yours is referenced.

maybe youve got the problem shown at http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=162058
it only happened in the most recent updates if so see if it happens when no internet based things are open.

It happens when the wireless card is configured (i do it at boot), also without being connected to the internet or to the WLAN. The weird thing is I can work for hours before it freezes, but when it does there is no other solution than the power button. I have a sis162u integrated wireless device.
