Hello everyone,

I do have a MacBook2,1 running Mint 9 (based on 10.04). My kernel verion is 2.6.32-21-generic. The graphic card is an Intel 945GM. I recently bought a mini-DVI > VGA adapter for my Compaq v1000 CRT screen. Dual-screen works fine at any resolution.

The problem appears when I turn off the laptop's LCD : if the CRT resolution exceeds 1024x768, the CRT display starts to flicker randomly. I can recognize the icons, windows and stuff, but it's mostly rubbish.

A solution would be to keep the 2 screens turned ON, and set the LCD brightness to 0 which actually turns the backlight off. But when using dual-screen, VLC displays a black screen instead of the video. I suppose it fails to find out where to display the video.

Thanks for reading.
Any ideas?
