Update: stickers for order, read more here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MarketingTeam/Shipping#head-f8b4591c47c80afd0acdb8ce61bbf4dc51a07e25
Hello artworkers...
I'm from teh Marketing Team, and we were thinking of haw effective it would be to have Ubuntu Stickers stuck on us - ie. how many poeple would become curious and ask what Ubuntu is.
ATM, I have these four, all made by IYY:
http://www.cs.yorku.ca/~cs251010/tested.svg (this one is in fact intended for HW vendors)
http://www.cs.yorku.ca/~cs251010/bw.svg
http://www.cs.yorku.ca/~cs251010/simple.svg
http://www.cs.yorku.ca/~cs251010/bg.svg
And these three, I believe, need a bit of work in order to be top notch promotion material...
So, I'd like to have a number of stickers saying things like that, and including, if possible, the URL. If anyone could sketch a few more candidates, it would be great - I'll try to get them printed out locally and see what it does...
[edit: there are other variants in the thread in attachments, so please read on]

I like the clear one, but there's too much space between the two lines of text (and i don't like the second font).
i'll edit it to my liking in the morn'

Here are a few modifications coz and I have made to the original 'tested' sticker.
If anyone has any good slogans to put in, please do expound. The background color can and will be changed - it looks great with most, IMO.

Bandit: I know, they aren't as good - that's why I posted them here, for the art team to see ;)

I really like the idea of quality case badges with some form of Ubuntu on it. Esp the "Testing with". How about something like the "Powered by"? Gives the sence of stability rather than a test platform. :)

like the art but the url on the images is incorrect, it should be www.ubuntulinux.org or www.ubuntu.com.

Ninjai: "Powered By" Case Stickers are available... but if there is demand, I can sketch them up from that... in fact... *sound of hurried scribbling*... there. See attachment.
codejunkie, if you are referring to spreadubuntu.org - it used to be valid and we are working on obtaining it back.

Ahh..but the problem with the ones that are available is the poor quality, after discussing with several people it appears that if placed near a point the hand/arm passes frequently on the laptop it soon dog ears after few months.
I esp like the coloured ones- you could be on to a winner there. :-D

Mind you, it's meant to be colored. Choosing the colors is more difficult. I show the svg without bckg because it's not as easy to do in svg files.
@ quality issue: We'll see how this goes - if it's bad, we switch printers, or pay more. I'm not sure about the funding yet. The MT has $0.00, but some other currencies, namely €0.00, £0.00 and ¥0.00. And I only have what is my own, and not much thereof... so... go figure ツ If people were willing to pay a bit more than shipping and printing price (to cover leftovers, losses, etc.), I might be able to do this, otherwise... I'm afraid I'd leave the finished material for poeple to print out themselves or someone else to organise it...

Though I couldn't open the file (at work) I like the idea of stickers. Patches and polo/T- shirts might be stylish....
I'd personally be all for a coffee mug....

The file is .svg, open that in GIMP with the svc plugin or in inkscape.
As for printing on other items - if you wish, the art is and will be here for ya :)

If you need a viewer for windows use Adobe SVG Viewer-works as a plugin with IE.

I'm no artist but I sure would like a Powered By Ubuntu sticker over the top of the "No Longer Powered By Windows" sticker;). However I would like Ninjai's Avatar with Powered by Ubuntu on it! If I could figure out what do in Gimp after I start it I would make it myself. Unfortunatly That seems to be beyond any slight artistic talent I may have dreamed I ever had! :D

also be sure to have a square(ish) design for vinyl stickers so we can deface bathrooms and public property and promote the distro as if it were a punk rock band

These images lack a professional look, but this is just my opinion. I like the idea very much, but for this to have real impact looks are everything.
Just a thought.

You have a point - and I reached it before. That is _exactly_ why I asked the Art Team for help. I haven't had any results yet, apart from IYY and coz, neither of whom is in the Art Team...

I'm not sure which stickers you are refering to but the ones you can order from the German site (which I originally found here (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=721369&postcount=247)) are not bad. They are thin and more like stickers than the semi stiff metalish ones from Dell, etc. I bought 10 of each Kubuntu and Ubuntu and stuck them here and there. It's been over a month and so far no peeling. Still, I doubt they are as durable as the others but until something better comes along they are very nice. I was going to attach a photo but I can't get ubuntu to talk to my camera...that's not good :( .

Yes, but those
1) are commercially made
2) cannot be altered to say "tested with" or "designed for XP, but runs better with Ubuntu"
3) says Linux instead of GNU/Linux
The last point is important, as the whole name of Ubuntu is - Ubuntu, not Ubuntu Linux, and if you want to add that it's a Linux (makes sense for the "Tested With" and others) to make it more broad, the proper and more descriptive way is GNU/Linux.

All good points. I wasn't trying to suggest that you abandon the idea, just that the only (as far as I know) available stickers at the moment are not bad. Personally, I'd rather have a slightly inaccurate and less fancy Ubuntu sticker than nothing at all. The GNU part is important and any "official" stickers should be accurate but so far everyone looking at my lappy and saying "cool sticker" has failed to point that out.

and did this, but it came out very bad:
