View Full Version : [ubuntu] Tips to improve battery life

I'm wondering what I can do to improve the battery run time on my netbook. I run Ubuntu 10.04 desktop edition on an Acer AspireOne d250 and so far the battery lasts about three hours of surfing the web, which isn't bad considering the advertised battery life is four hours, but I'd like to augment that a bit, even beyond just gnome-power-manager.

You should try out powertop. www.lesswatts.org/projects/ (http://www.lesswatts.org/projects/)powertop/
I also have a d250 with 10.04 and it really does help extend the battery life.
