I just replaced my read only drive with the afore-mentioned DVD drive and the computer doesn't see it. I can use the drive both to read and write discs, but I want to be able to boot from a LIVE CD, when I go in the BIOS it says "CD Disc drive not present".
The only thing I can think of is that the old drive had a PATA connection and the new one is SATA.
The computer is a Dell OptiPlex GX620 running 10.04
