After Installing Ubuntu 10.04 on my Macbook Pro 5,5 I noticed that the graphics were a bit choppy. I Installed the Nvidia Drivers through System > Administration > Hardware Drivers, though this didn't make much difference.

When I say the graphics were choppy I mean, moving a window from side to side the edges would get poxy and choppy, or when I went into desktop cube mode the edges were very choppy. This may not annoy others as much as it did to me.

Anyways to solve this issue install Compiz-settings-manager and go to General Options > Display Settings then there is a list called "Outputs" > add your screen size to it, mine was 1280x800, then above that you will see "Refresh Rate" slide this all the way to the right "200" and tick the box "Sync to vblank"

This probably works for most computers, just thought macbook pro users would like to know.

Cheers.
