Hi Everyone. This is an important question that is preventing me from installing ubuntu 10.10 on my laptop.

Here is the situation:

When I download and install Ubuntu 10.10 and boot to it's kernel my wireless isn't working because it says "Wireless device not ready(firmware missing)" Now here comes the problem, When I open hardware drivers, it says that the driver isn't activated, and when I try to activate it, it gives me an error: "System Error: Install Archives() Failed"

Can anybody help me resolve this problem? My driver is the Broadcom B43Legacy.

Thank You :)

Scroll down the following link to installing the b43 driver. It is much easier if you do have hardwire access when trying to install however the instructions also cover install with no internet access......

Hmmm I tried all of the steps but unfortunately it did not work :( Is it possible that my wireless card driver is not supported anymore by Ubuntu 10.10 and is there any potential hope, if that's the case, that support could be included for 11.04?

Thank You
