Hey!

I recently bought a Packard Bell TX86 and installed Ubuntu 10.10.
The problem is, that the fan runs all the time at the second highest speed. Sometimes it also goes up to maximum speed (in case of high CPU load).
Does anybody know if it is possible to control the fan?
lm-sensors didn't detect anything, though sensors displays 2 values for temp (CPU/HDD).
Maybe this could have something to do with the nvidia gpu and optimus.
Maybe the GPU doesn't get suspended because the driver doesn't support it yet.

But nevertheless, it would be great to control the fan :-)
I would really appreciate any suggestions as the fan noise is really disturbing.

Dennis
