Hi,
I've been trying to find a nice neat way to make a script to help disable and re-enable my notebook's touchpad. I stumbled on a way to do it while searching in here, but with the script I made it has a issue.
While the script does disable the touchpad when used as a panel icon, if I use the keyboard, the touchpad is re-enabled again. Defeating the whole point.
I have a HP notebook with a PS/2 Synaptics touchpad. I've included the script and the links to the resources I used to do this with.
This is the Shmconfig option I enabled:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SynapticsTouchpad#shmconfig
Also, I'm running Ubuntu 10.10.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide me.
