Hey guys,

If you have recompiled your kernel, post/attach your configuration file here. I am trying to trim my kernel as much as possible without sacrificing functionality. Also, if possible, tell us if this has improved performance or not?

Let me stress that there was nothing wrong with the generic configuration. I just want to see how much I can remove without breaking stuff. The generic config has tons of useless stuff.

I also edited the makefile to include processor specific CFLAGS.

# SHELL used by kbuild
CONFIG_SHELL := $(shell if [ -x "$$BASH" ]; then echo $$BASH; \
else if [ -x /bin/bash ]; then echo /bin/bash; \
else echo sh; fi ; fi)

HOSTCC = gcc
HOSTCXX = g++
HOSTCFLAGS = -Wall -Wmissing-prototypes -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe -march=pentium-m
HOSTCXXFLAGS = -O2
