I installed a second wired network card on my computer. But once it was up and going I restarted the computer. Once it restarted within two minutes the monitor displayed "no signal". I restarted once again, and it continued. I shut down then removed card and booted up. The problem went away.

Whats Up?

Running Ubuntu 10.10 ; also the card was working fine.

Thats... interesting lol.
Have you tried a different slot for the card? have you checked your log files for anything revealing?

I don't see anything that corresponds with monitor or the network card.

well, try another slot. If that doesnt help, disable the first card (I assume onboard, so disable it in the bios), ensure the new one works, then enable the onboard again.
