Last week I purchased the above nettop PC and installed Ubuntu 10.10 [full desktop] and everything seemed to be working fine, including all three levels of graphics on my 21" monitor.

The next day I read about the 'custom' version for netbooks and assumed it may have a better fit for the nettop's hardware * [in terms of performance etc.] I therefore decided to remove the desktop version and install the netbook version. Again everything is working fine with the exception of the graphics which now only run at the lowest of the 3 settings - the usual on-screen options to change them being greyed out.

* ATOM 230 processor; 2GB SO-DIMM DDR2 667MHz memory; 2.5" 160GB S-ATA HD; NVIDIA ION (9 Series GeForce) with up to 2560 x 1600 giving 1080p, CUDA graphics

Can anyone advise on the actual differences between the versions and which is really best for the above hardware. If the netbook version is deemed to be better [for whatever reason] is it possible to 'upgrade' the graphics capabilty ?

Thanks,

Phil
