Hey whats up all! I am trying to install ut2004 dvd edition on my system
and it says (no right permission to /usr/local/games) I guess thats default or something. how do i changed the permissions if at all possible.
Or what is a recommended path for the game to where i don't have to change permissions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks:-?

When exactly does this happen? When running the installation script?
Did you remeber to use sudo first?
eg:
sudo sh /media/cdrom0/linux-installer.sh

It happened just before it starts installing
all i did was click on the installer it ask to run or run in terminal
i clicked run in terminal and it took of
to the setup. It happened when you click next to use default path thats when i got
the error.

It seems that copying the linux installer onto the desktop & running it from there is the way to go for installing ut2k4.
It is a strategy that has been suggested by many users in the forum in the past.
Great that you can now play this wonderful game! :KS

I have only used the CD version, so I can't speak for the DVD.
Did the DVD version come out after the CD's?
They might have cleaned that problem up?

Must have been. I bought the DVD version 5 months ago.
