It has been a while since I installed from a CD. Question:

How do I check the newly burned CD for errors?

I downloaded the Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop 32 bit ISO and burned it to a CD for a friend. I then booted with the intent of selecting the option to check the CD for errors but the only options I see are 1) Run Ubuntu and 2) Install Ubuntu.

I install almost exclusively from a flash drive these days but I thought I remembered there being an option to check the CD. Any help appreciated.

You can check the md5sum

and after you do the checksum, (I usually do that PRIOR to burning). Then I burn at the slowest speed possible using disc verification.
Then I boot with the disk and select the check disk option.

Saves trying to install a bad dowload/bad burn!

Ummm...where is the "check disk" option?

I don't see it.
