Have I installed10.10?

Sounds a silly question but last weekend I did a re-install using my Koala CD and then went to update manager which told me, as I expected, that an upgrade was available so I clicked install and left it to it, assuming that Lucid Lynx was being installed. I did notice that some things looked a bit different but when I found my software repositary wasn't working I checked into the forum and found all these posts about Meerkat.
Sorry to be stupid, but where on the computer does it tell me which one I have installed?

Go to System>About Ubuntu. It will say at the top of page which version you have.

Another way is to type
cat /etc/issue in the Terminal.

The software centre is now working anyway.
