I'm running 9.10, using a HP LaserJet4 through a parallel to USB adapter (a length of cable with appropriate connectors at each end. When I print, blank sheets of paper are continually ejected. I have no problems with my Epson Photo Stylus R220 USB printer.
The LaserJet4 worked fine with an earlier distro; problems occurred after the upgrade. One possible problem is entering incorrect URI after the upgrade, but I carefully checked. I used parallel:/dev/usb/lp0 which I obtained from

One other question. How can I tell what distro I'm currently using? I'd rather not just use my memory.
Thanks, Jim
