A few months ago I tried Kubuntu 10.04. Although I prefer the workflow of Ubuntu I did get off on the Plasma widgets that the KDE desktop offered. Can anyone help me to install the same widgets on my Ubuntu desktop. . . remembering that I can only do the simplest of operations without someone holding my hands.

Thanks

Norm

I don't believe there is any way to have plasma widgets on the Gnome Desktop (default Ubuntu) without seriously screwing up Gnome itself. There is a program called Screenlets that does something similar for gnome, but I've never really liked them. Some people accomplish some really cool stuff with Conky but it takes a lot of work to configure. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=281865&page=1431

P.S. I prefer the Gnome Desktop also.
