Hello,

I installed Ubuntu 10.10 on my laptop yesterday (check my signature for stats). I have noticed that every few seconds when I'm moving the mouse pointer, it stops for just a second then I can move it again. This has become very annoying and hard to work with. If anyone can elaborate on a solution. I'd greatly appreciate it.

Cheers,

Hi friend ,
I think , this happens when system is very busy (ex: lunching some process , installing some pkgs ,... )

i have the same problem :( , it's really annoying
I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 in my laptop (intel 2.8 GHz 512 of ram )

so friend, I think you have to wait for some seconds (some minutes if operation is long ),while system terminate its tasks,
maybe also PS/2 mouse be faster and more controlled by system than a usb one

Good luck

Alright, seems like there is no direct solution, but I do appreciate your insight. Hopefully it'll be fixed in an update, a future release, or maybe I'll just switch to Xubuntu or Lubuntu.

Cheers,
