Was having same problem before on 10.4 once Wow crashed upgraded 10.10 reinstalled wow played off and on all day. Wow crashed and computer started acting up, programs would stop or just close like i closed them. some would say they stopped working and ask if i wanted to force quit. then just sit there as the force quit window froze. after a bit of this nothing would work. About 10 to 15 min of nothing working. i had to get up and leave...folded laundry. I shut down computer. This happen a couple more times with varying amounts of time that it worked fine. I just put this back together the other day. new Mobo, chip, ram. used old hdd, PSU and case. is this a hardware issue or software? I still new to playing with hardware and linux so did i screw something up. Teach me O Great Ones (in layman's terms if you could) heres what i got.

looking at all this and knowing im at a loss as to what most of it means i did notice there was a mix of 32 and 64 bit components would or could that hurt things?

Thanks for any help

hmmm, Don't know. any idea how to find out? I thought ubuntu was suppose to set it up on the install. which would be better? or is it a " just try the other and see " kind of thing?.. wish i didnt have to go to work today.

Thanks for any help

Use the

System -> Administration -> Additional drivers

tool to install the propritary nVidia video driver. The driver is needed to play 3D games on Ubuntu.

If it is already installed should there be a green "glass sphere" on the left side of the list box entry. This means it is installed and activated.

just went to Sys>Admin>Additional drivers and it says im using the (version current)[Recommended] doesn't say which version it is my other option is version 173. odd thing when i installed the other day i was sure there was 3 options not just 2

For me there were always only two options.

Maybe it is problem of the current version of the nVidia driver. Have tryed the old version? Maybe this helps.
