Ok, I am a newbie but am loving the investigational aspect of this OS. Ubuntu boots fine into my current kernel Linux 2.6.32-25-generic. no issues as of yet getting there. Strange thing though, my canon MFP 490 stopped printing. I get it back by doing sudo service cups restart. But I have to do this every time I restart. The other problem is that when I restart or shut down it hangs at the Ubuntu splash screen, the dots keep on going but nothing happens. I have to do a hard boot, i.e. press the power button off button to get it to boot back. I don't want to keep on doing this since I am under the impression that it will eventually destroy my lenovo labtop. I have a dual boot system with win XP. The boot log has something referencing the canon printer so I'm thinking it is involved. Please help, boot.log attached and rules.d attached.
