Is there any way to work around this baby?

I wan't to play DDO (Dungeons and Dragons Online) on Linux but the problem is this, the DDO MMO startup isn't like WoW with an ingamelogin

it has two .exe

dndlauncher.exe
and
dndclient.exe

You need to start with dndlauncher.exe that uses .Net framework and that in it's turn need to start then dndclient.exe

Is there anyway around this without putting a VMware or such in? right now I dualbooting but want to move away from WinXP as much as possible.

Any ideas on how to fake .Net or so on and be able to run the game even tho you have one .exe starting another?

Hmm get an error msg with a popup saying

System.EntryPointNotFoundException: RegisterWindowMessage in (wrapper managed-to-native) com.turbine.launcher.Launcher:RegisterWindowMessag e (string) in <0x00141> com.turbine.launcher.Launcher:Main()


and the error

But can't find the libgtk-x11-2.0.so in synaptic?

I don't know if you can execute that program using mono but the library you need is in the package "libgtk2.0-dev".

Might have missread the info after install, but beeen fighting with wine trying to get .Net on there

I would create a dndclient that just dumps all command line output to a text file and then make my own dndlauncher to run the real dndclient. but that might not work because the launcher may be dealing with http and session ids and stuff. so you might need a port sniffer along with it.
