Hi everybody!
I will just start excusing me for my bad english... :)

I just started to learn php, but i can't really start, because i can't succes the XAMPP installation...

I'm working on ubuntu 10.04 lucid lynx.

I made all it's said in the different topics about the install :
- Download the *.tar.gz archive
- Uncompress it with a command line in the folder /opt/lampp
- do the security update
- started it

But when i came to http://localhost/, i've just this message :

"It works! This is the default web page for this server.
The web server software is running but no content has been added, yet."

Instead of the main page of XAMPP configuration i should have...
Someone had this problem, or know how to resolve it?

Thanks; Eduine

Hi, I just finished installing 0.7.3a on my Asus EeePC 1000H that's running unbuntu netbook edition. I had a few problems at first but with a bit of playing around I finally finished, so I wrote a quick step by step tutorial.

HOW TO: Install XAMPP 1.7.3a for Linux in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick or Netbook Edition (http://vittorio.6te.net/?p=10)

Maybe the best thing for you to do is delete it and start again. To uninstall just go into your terminal and type

rm -rf /opt/lampp
