Downloaded and burnt a CD last night.

Popped it in my pismo and I keep booting into OS 9.

I am holding down the C key during all boot and reboot cycles

The drive spins up but no matter what, I keep ending up in OS9. The ubuntu disk mounts on my desktop but obviously I can't use it that way.

Grrr. Arrrrgh.

(thanks) :? [/b]

Did you just burn the file to the disc, or burn it as an iso? It's a subtle difference, but if you haven't burnt it as an iso, you can't boot off it, it's just a disc with the data on it. (I wasted so many CD-Rs on other distro's before I worked that one out.)

Also, there are other key combos to get it to boot from CD... I think you can use command+C, or option+C.... I can't remember exactly, but its something like that. Can some one help me help kadymae?

Is the pismo pre or post blue and white powermac g3? The PPC how-to (http://www.ubuntulinux.org/support/documentation/howto/installation-powerpc) on ubuntulinux.org mentions that Macs before B&W G3's might not be compatible.

Hope this helps.
