I'm trying to install the newest xubuntu on my Laptop (1,5Ghz Pentium m; 512Mb 133Mhz RAM; 60 Gb IDE HDD). It boots correctly until I select "Install" or "Start using w/o Installation" but then it loads about 10 min and then the logo disappears. After that nothing happens!
I have already done the Memory Test.

What can I do?

(sry for bad english :))

Welcome to the forum.

There are some examples that 10.04 does not like particular hardware, often the screen card. How does it work with Xubuntu 9.10?

You could also try the alternate version.

Nope, I still got the same problem!

At the point after installing the basic system, where it installs the GUI, it says "Installation Failed". I tried various versions but none of these work.
Maybe I should format my HDD first but how can I do this with Xubuntu?

Formatting the hard drive does not make any difference. Ubuntu formats automatically in the process.

Which versions did you try?

Which screen card are you using?

Since your machine is old, this might be of interest to you:
