Sound problems; ubuntu 10.04, Aspire 8943G

Out sound works only on the left channel. Right channel do not work in any constellation using the gnome-volume-control.

Build in microphone do not a bit work.

Anyone has an idea what I can do?

Hi freinds any body can tell me that why hp laptop master sound is working loudly is it can't we manage
to control and how we can activate hdphone sound through alsa.

Hi,

I have installed the package linux-backports-modules and the problem was solved. Headphones also work correctly.

But the are some things, there are not optimal:

1. The scroll with the moues center button i.e. in firefox, is not fluently. The page will be redraw a little bit slow to make the scroll function.

2. When headphones are plugged in, the speakers will not be switch off :-(

But now works the microphone and the stereo on both channels.
