Why is wubi downloading

lucid-desktop-i386.iso

every time I try to install ubuntu ( it haz fail problems), where is this file going? ( so I don't have to download it everytime)

it adds 1hour and 40 mins or so every time I try to install so what's it doing!?

thanks :D

Just download the file yourself - bittorrent is the quickest method - and place it in the same folder as wubi.exe. Then wubi.exe will use it.

Or you could just burn the .iso to disk. Either method will prevent wubi from downloading each time. Just make sure the wubi.exe matches the .iso version (the current version of both is 10.04.1)

I downloaded it from here:

http://www.lucid-desktop.org/download/

(the second one, I think the first is for linux?)

should I extract it to the folder with wubi in or just put the .zip file in?

edit:
I've put them both in, to be on the safe side ;)

I don't know what that link is. You can download the .iso from http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download and wubi.exe from http://wubi-installer.org/

EDIT: I just checked out that link and it has nothing to do with Ubuntu, near as I can tell.
