I recently bought an ASUS nettop that is supposedly able to play HD movies, but after installing Lucid and the proprietary drivers, HD movies (720p) are as jumpy as they are on my old non-HD PC. How can I figure out if there's some sort of problem preventing HD movies from playing at full resolution?

Thanks

Just bought the same computer (Asus EB1006) and I'm having the exact same problem. Have you made any progress with this?

The best performance I've found with:

-NOT using the proprietary driver
-using VLC for movies
-having "normal" desktop effects ENABLED (weird, I know)

I've downloaded and tweaked a lot of things, so I'm not sure if I did something that helped without realizing it, but HD movies play ok now. (HD flash movies still don't work well, I don't think this can be fixed)
