Philippine Team Maverick Meerkat (10.10) Release Party

We're expecting Ubuntu 10.10 aka Maverick Meerkat to be released on Sunday, October 10th (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MaverickReleaseSchedule). We have about a month to prepare for the release party.

This time, it would be nice to have release parties in different areas in the country and do videocalls to communicate. We'll have the party in Manila covered so I encourage you to organize parties in other areas then let's coordinate.

For Manila, we can start by setting a date. Maybe October 16 (Saturday) because the 10th is a Sunday? As for the venue, I talked to zakame and we might already have a venue. I'll have to confirm, though. Either way, feel free to propose :)

Here are some options. October 11th is Monday, a day after the official Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat release. October 15 naman is a Friday, which is the end of our working week (for most of us). And if we really wanna stick with numbers, why not October 20 (10.10)..?

It is confirmed, we have a party on Saturday, October 23, at Orange
and Bronze Software Labs in Makati, 6:00pm onwards. Pressed CDs have
arrived (thanks, Canonical!) and we have people to talk about new
Ubuntu features and sharing new developments on a new national
language keymap.

We were watching you guys sa uStream last Saturday bago umalis, and my friends were actually curious and tried their hands on some Ubuntu desktop here in my place, and they wanna go to the next release party. They'll have their machines on dual boot within the week... :-)

Anyways, OctoberFest was fun, "HATEBREED in MANILA" is Next.. :guitar:
