This has probably already been mentioned, but I didn't see anything about it on the first couple of pages.
The forum navigation here is horrible. For example, the laptop forum is hidden. You have to hit the drop down of actual forums to find it. A lot of new people are not going to see the drop down list of forums.
It would be nice to have all of the sub forums listed under each section, so when I click on the Community Discussions link, I see all of the forums under community discussions. when I click on hardware support, I see all of the choices available for hardware support.
I am sure there is a reason it is set up the way it is, but it makes it tough to get around here.

Looks seem to be more important than functionality. If you list the hardware subforums it would screw up the current spacing. You are not the first one to mention this and probably not the last one.
A lot of people seem to be posting specific hardware questions (laptop, network etc) in the generic hardware forum because they are not aware of the subforums. They will most likely not get the same response should they have posted in the correct subforum but thats their problem at the end of the day. I for one am not going to sit and search for network related queries in the generic forum in order to help people, for now if something catches my eye on the first page I might look at it.
Maybe with time people will figure out that there are subforums. Alternative start asking the mods/admins to move posts to the appropriate sub forums.

Fixing that sub forum issue is on the list of things to do..

IMHO it is a problem for all of us. If people are not getting the help they need they will move along to another distro.
Having said that, the ubuntu forums are among the most helpful I have seen though.
Thanks for the replies. It's good to know the issue is being looked at.
