Is it possible in Ubuntu to have windows flash on the taskbar when they need attention? For example, if I receive a message in Skype, the icon changes but the window button does not change colour or flash so it's very hard to tell when someone has sent you a message. Also, when I know someone has sent me a message, it's hard to tell which window button I need to click on in the task bar to find it.

On a similar note, is it possible to have similar windows' buttons grouped together?

Bump. To explain what I mean, here are some screenshots:

This is what a window that requires attention looks like on my 'taskbar' in Ubuntu:

The blue hint is very subtle. Now here is how Windows XP does the same:

The XP taskbar is much more visible and also flashes to make sure it's got your attention. Is it possible to configure Ubuntu to get a similar effect?

I don't really use docks too much but when I messed with them there was a way to set notifications for IMs like Skype which would probably be more efficient than the panel. If anyone knows more about docks and notifications through em' your input is needed!
