I have been using Maverick Meerkat for a while, and I noticed that sun-java6 packages were not included but I assumed it would have been included in later updates. However with the beta and final release a few weeks away. I dont think it will be included.
Does anyone know the reasons for not including oracle's java. And any official word for canoical.

This is probably because the Partner repos may not yet be up and running for Maverick. I have not looked at it yet, but in Lucid it's the partner repos that contain a lot of those sort of packages, so I assume the same will be true of Maverick, and I seem to remember in the past there was never a full compliment of repos until the final release.

Ok I guess we should wait and see. But I'm almost sure that packages like sun-java6 were in the repos from early in other development series in the past.

That is true, but then java was in the main repos and not in parter

I used the following method from this old "froggy" fart...
You may have to reboot afterwards
